Mountain Bike Elopement in Valemount, BC

Some love stories are written in the mountains, carved into dirt trails, and fueled by adrenaline. Emma and Zac’s elopement was exactly that—a wild, adventurous, and deeply personal day that perfectly reflected who they are. As avid mountain bikers, they knew their wedding had to be on two wheels, and what better place than the Valemount Bike Park on a trail Zac himself built: Down To Firebreak.

A Slow, Intimate Morning

Before the excitement of the day began, Emma and Zac spent a quiet, meaningful morning together. They brewed coffee from a local roaster, and wrote their vows side by side. Before stepping into the next chapter of their lives, they swayed together in a private first dance in their kitchen—a moment just for them.

Exploring Valemount’s Beauty

When we met up, we took some time to explore the stunning landscapes of Valemount. We chased the light at Kinbasket Lake, soaked in the vast mountain views, and captured the pure excitement of the day unfolding. Every moment was filled with anticipation, adventure, and the undeniable connection between these two.

A Ceremony at the Top of the World

With trucks loaded and bikes ready, we made our way up the mountain to the place where they would say “I do.” At the top of Down To Firebreak, surrounded by only their siblings and their partners, Emma and Zac exchanged vows with the peaks as their witnesses. It was raw, real, and absolutely perfect. The moment they were pronounced husband and wife, champagne was popped, cheers rang through the trees, and we did what any mountain biker would do—celebrated with a downhill lap in wedding attire!

Emma, ever the adventurer, tied up her dress to keep it out of her bike chain, and together they rode down, their wedding day unfolding in the most authentic way possible. At the bottom, more friends were waiting to celebrate with them, a community of people who had supported their journey in love and in life.

A Toast to Love and Trails

Not ready for the day to end just yet, we loaded up and went for one more lap with everyone before heading back to Zac and Emma’s backyard. There, under the stars, we shared pizza, laughter, and stories by the fire—an easy, beautiful end to a day that truly felt like them.

Emma and Zac’s wedding was a testament to choosing adventure, celebrating love in your own way, and making memories on the trails that shape your life. Their elopement wasn’t just about saying vows—it was about riding into marriage the way they ride through life: with passion, joy, and a little bit of dirt on their shoes.
