Alexa & Justin's Banff Elopement
Alexa & Justin had originally planned a huge back yard wedding in their home town of Cold Lake, Alberta. They were deep in the planning of the classic wedding when one day I get a text message.. "Planning a wedding is going to put me in therapy.. what would you think if we came to you and eloped instead?"
"Oh, hell ya!"
For the next few months they kept their elopement plans under wraps while I got to work on finding the perfect location for these two. We landed on two separate locations - Peyto Lake for their vows, and Bow Lake for some portraits with their dog, Leonard.
We spent the morning together wandering the Banff townsite, having brunch, and eventually deciding to do this thing. We packed up the car and headed up the beautiful Icefields Parkway to Peyto Lake. They got ready in the parking lot and shared their first look in a forested nook. We made the short hike up to the view point, and then, on the day of their tenth anniversary, Alexa and Justin said their private vows to one another overlooking glacial waters, mountain peaks and pine trees.
I'm so proud of these two for choosing a wedding day that was right for them.
