Double Proposal in Jasper National Park
Some proposals take months of meticulous planning, while others unfold in the most spontaneous and magical ways. Caitlin’s proposal to Rachel in Jasper National Park was a mix of both—a carefully thought-out plan with a twist that no one saw coming!
Caitlin and Rachel, who run a family flower farm in Michigan, were visiting Jasper with Rachel’s family when Caitlin reached out to me with a plan. She wanted to propose in one of the most breathtaking places in Canada, and she had the perfect idea to make the moment personal and unforgettable. Since Rachel is obsessed with Coca-Cola, Caitlin had a custom Coke can made with the words "Will you marry me?" on it.
The plan? I would pretend to be just another person appreciating the wild beauty of Jasper. When Caitlin and Rachel saw me, they would casually ask if I could take a photo of them, and then Caitlin would pop the question.
Everything went perfectly. I was in place, pretending to photograph the mountains and wildflowers, when Caitlin and Rachel approached me. As I lifted my camera, Caitlin pulled out the special Coke can and asked Rachel the big question.
Rachel was shocked—but in the best way possible. She said yes, of course! But then, in the most unexpected twist, she reached into her bag, pulled out a ring, and turned the proposal right back around! A double proposal! Both Caitlin and Rachel got to experience that once-in-a-lifetime moment of asking and being asked, a true testament to their love and how in sync they are.
Rachel’s family, who had been in on the secret, cheered as they embraced, celebrating a moment they would never forget. After capturing some joyful family photos, we wandered off for a more intimate session with just Caitlin and Rachel, soaking in the golden light and the stunning Jasper backdrop.
This proposal was one for the books—not just because of the stunning scenery but because of the deep love, surprise, and thoughtfulness that made it so unique.
